Frequently Asked Questions
2FA is optional but highly recommended for all users, especially those with administrative privileges. It adds an essential layer of security to protect your account from unauthorized access.
If your verification codes aren't working, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Ensure your device's time is synchronized (most authenticator apps use time-based codes)
- Check that you're using the correct account in your authenticator app
- Make sure you're entering the most recent code (they refresh every 30 seconds)
- Try using a backup code if available
Yes, you can set up multiple authentication methods for added convenience and redundancy. We recommend having at least two methods configured in case you lose access to one. For example, you might use an authenticator app as your primary method and SMS as a backup.
It's a good security practice to generate new backup codes in these situations:
- After using any of your backup codes
- If you suspect your backup codes may have been compromised
- At least once every 6 months as part of regular security maintenance
Remember that generating new backup codes will invalidate all previously generated codes.
