Group Invites
What Are Group Invites?
Group invites let you share a direct link to a group so others can join quickly. Admins can also invite specific registered users directly from the invite page. Each invitation is single-use — once accepted, it cannot be reused.
How to Use Invite Links
For Group Admins
- Go to the group details page.
- Click the Copy Invite Link button in the header.
- Share the link with others via message, email, or social media.
- Alternatively, go to the invite page directly and use the Invite Members search box to select multiple registered users and send invitations.
For New Members
- Open the invite link (for example:
/groups/invite/123). - Sign in if you are not already logged in.
- Click Join Group to become a member.
- You will be redirected to the group page automatically.
Public vs. Private Groups
Public groups allow anyone to join via an invite link.
Private groups require an admin to send you an invitation first. When invited, you will receive a direct-message notification with a link to the invite page. If you try to join a private group without an invitation, you will see a message explaining that the group is private.
Single-Use Invitations
Invitations sent by admins are single-use. Once you accept an invitation and join the group, the invitation is consumed and cannot be reused. If you leave the group later, you will need a new invitation to rejoin a private group.
Welcome Message
After you join a group through an invite link, the group owner will automatically receive a notification and may send you a welcome direct message to help you get started.
Troubleshooting
- Link does not work: Make sure you are signed in. If the group is private, you need an invitation from an admin.
- Already a member: The invite page will show a button to go directly to the group.
- Invitation already used: Invitations are single-use. If you already joined and left, ask an admin to send a new invitation.
- Group not found: The group may have been deleted or the link may be incorrect.
